Graphite packing type EGW and EGW/I
Packing from yarn from exfoliated pure graphite (carbon content, above 98%), led on a cotton rope. Exfoliated graphite, due to its thermal and chemical resistance, self-spreadable properties and good thermal conductivity is perfect for high-temperature braided packing. Substituting inconel reinforcement with a cotton rope lowers mechanical parameters at high temperatures but, as a result, the packing fits more softly into the stuffing box and has a lower friction coefficient. The version with the symbol EGW/I is additionally enriched with a high quality corrosion inhibitor.
Application
Graphite packing is used in rotor pumps, working with high speed up to 25 m/s, mainly in the chemical and power industries:
- for chemically aggressive agent pumps in the power industry,
- sealing high-temperature pumps feeding boilers in the petrochemical industry.
